Should a criminal die the way he killed a person?

If a criminal killed someone in a certain way and he was to be returned the favor, that would involve someone killing him the same way. The key work is killing. Someone else would have to kill him. And that's against the law no matter who you are in most countries. Also, revenge is not a justification for murder in the eyes of the law. So whether they should or should not be killed in the same way is a question that asks for a personal opinion. You should decide for yourself by putting yourself in the situation. But if you choose to kill that person in the same way, or in any way, and get caught, you will be imprisoned or punished in whatever manner the country that the crime took place in executes those who take the law into their own hands. Say someone was killed by a flesh-eating disease that someone purposely spread to them. If you infect the person who spread it, there may be collateral damage since it may be contagious and innocent people become infected and die for no cause. Or say someone was killed by being in a collapsing building caused by a terrorist attack. If the terrorist survives, is it worth construction of a multimillion dollar building and destroying it so that they could die the same way? It's essentially pointless in some cases. In other cases, such as being shot or suffocated or something similar, there is no collateral damage done and only the criminal is injured and killed. In this case one would have to justify it to themselves enough for them to be willing to serve some hard time for that moment.
