They did an incredible job and should be remembered for their efforts and sacrifices but often wars are won or lost by folks that never actually pick up a weapon and the Battle of Britain is just such an occurance. The folks involved in inventing, developing and placement and utilization of Radar were the ones that actually enabled Britain to win.
