Should laptops be allowed in schools?

It is healthy for children to explore and learn about the various aspects of our world, and this includes many different things, including computers. However, computers are very seductive and can wind up absorbing all of someone's time, which is not good for children (and carries some risk even for adults). So my opinion is that you can let children use computers or even give them a computer of their own, provided that there is a limit to the amount of time that they spend using it. They need to connect to the real world, to get physical exercise, to meet living human beings, and so forth, as well as to find out how to use computers.

Laptops are generally not suitable for children. Most are delicate and do not stand up well to the way children treat objects. There is also the risk that they could be stolen if they take them to school.

My daughter aged ten, has a laptop and is perfect, she says it helped her read, she got her very first laptop at the age of seven, please edit under here so I can answer you easier :).
