Only if the tests are not invasive (i.e. I would count a blood test as not invasive, but if there had to be an organ biopsy that's invasive), unless there was something that could be done to help the child that would be effective at this age.

Should people with diseases have children?

Ultimately, the decision to have children is a personal one and depends on various factors including the severity of the disease, its genetic implications, and the individual's ability to provide care. It's important for those with diseases to consider the impact on their health, the potential for passing on the disease, and the support available to them in raising a child. Consulting with healthcare providers and genetic counselors can provide valuable guidance in making an informed decision.

Is it wrong for children to do chores?

It's wrong for children do have to do so many chores they are effectively looking after themselves. It is the role of the parent to look after the child. Children should however be responsible for some things. Jobs like taking out the rubbish or recycling, entertaining younger siblings and setting the table are the sorts of things children should be able to do. I understand there is a strain on parents when they are looking after children. Children need to understand this and do what they can to help.

What is genetic brain disorder?

A genetic brain disorder is one which is caused by a genetic defect, a 'typo' in the person's DNA sequence that leads to the miscoding of a critical protein. One example is the family of prion diseases; some forms of Alzheimer's may also be inherited.Alternately, brain injury can be caused in utero, or during the process of childbirth (such as a lack of oxygen if the umbilical cord gets tangled around the neck). These are notgenetic disorders, as there would be no risk of passing them on should the person later have children of their own.
