Should government ban gas guzzling polluting cars now that electric cars and electric charging stations exist and can be purchased for a cleaner healthier economically stimulating environment?

I believe they should not because I am more of a small-government type and I would classify that move, even if it is done over many many years (which it would have to be) to be imposing on freedom of trade and business. They can encourage the purchase of electric cars, but not enforce it.
