The correct battery has vent connections on both sides of the battery that vents the battery gases through a tube through the floor board to the outside of the car. I just bought a Bosch? battery at Pepboys that has this connection like the original battery. The price was much cheaper then the original AC Delco (about half) and has the same warranty and cranking amps.
You will need to install an OEM type battery, exactly like the one that came on the car. Not necessarily the same make but the same type.
A sealed battery, also known as a dry cell, cannot be refurbished. They can be recycled and should be disposed of correctly.

A fully charged sealed Harley battery should read no less than 12.8 volts a minimum of two hours after charging. Any less voltage means the battery is failing and will eventually need to be replaced.
If your battery is not a sealed unit you add pure distilled water.
On most modern sealed batteries you do not have to add water. On batteries that are not sealed you should check the battery monthly. If you have to add water only add distilled water and never tap water.
