Back in the old days, zoo's were used to capture animals and forcing them to entertain people, like in a circus, you could say. Today zoo's are like...an animal santurary where endangered animals such as the panda are kept in captivity to be protected and possibly even bred. For instance, if a panda was out in the wild minding its own business and then suddenly a hunter came, it would be dead in a few seconds. Further, Panda's are kept in zoo's because too much of their forest home is being destroyed by humans. As the Earth over-populates with people, especially China, mind you, we need to clear away land to provide homes. That means chopping down trees. Especially the Bamboo forest of the Panda bear.
yes.. until their population increases and they are not endangered or threted
there is currently 212 giant pandas in captivity
There are many panada's in zoo's today so yes they can. If your talking about keeping one as a pet then no
Yes
Sweden may have pandas but not in the wilderness most likely In captivity
Well... There are more blue whales than Pandas. But Pandas can be kept, bred and raised in captivity, protected. You can't do that to blue whales. So I'd say the blue whale is at greater risk of exctinction than the pandas.
Probably not.
The Zoo.~TL
Pandas are more known to be safe in captivity because they are an endangered species. There is more of a chance that Pandas will go extinct in the wild because we cant keep track of them.
You should always have the temperature at 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit in captivity. And the humidity at 75-90 percent.
no they dont.
Pandas live for about 20 years in the wild and 35 years in captivity.
