parent should be held responsible for children under the age of ten because this way the parent has no excuse for the child's wrong doing. For example a six year srcaches a neighbors car they should pay bit by bit to try and pay the damage of. Two reasons why are first if the child that age was not attend for or watched then yeh that's there fualt. Second the child doesn't know what its doing and isn't' able to pay the payment him or her self. Those are my theries on the problem. Then i think 10-13 should be able to be wacthed to see the types of parents they have. If the parents are all for educhation and teaching wrong from right they should be of the hook.Because the parents have done there partr in parenting and has filled the biggest purpuse in parenting. Which is teaching wrong from right. But on the other hand if the parent should be poor in teach those rules the child wasn't informed of his/her doing. Say the parent live in a very unstabel home and has rekles parents tha child needs help with nuterity skills. That's why theres counsleing for those in need. Any way's if a child is over thirteen there teenagers and now are learning about the true mean world and need to break away from there parents. And doing so they should know the baseks. If ther redon't there should pay and be reasponsible for there actions. Being given more freedom when they make a disishion they better be ready for the consiquenses.

I do believe parents to need to be held accountable for some parts of a child's actions but depending on the crime, if they are old enough to know right from wrong I think the child should suffer the punishment the crime committed. I do not think that the parents should be blamed; to such an extent, if the child is over the age of 13 and can clearly comprehend and make right decisions.

Yes, most courts have ruled that parents are the ones that are supposed to teach their children right from wrong. If they fail to do that, the result is criminal activity.

Should parents be held responsible for their child actions?

A parents' responsibility is to properly raise the children and give them a good foundation on which to build upon later in life. So... Yes if: The child has any type of disability, if the child is younger than 13, or if the parent could not control their child, and did not ask for help. But... No if: The child is in their teen years and does not have a disability that would include horrible behavior. It's the kids' fault, the kid did it, so why should the parents be responsible for it?

In the state of South Carolina can a 17 year old pay child support?

It depends if the 17 year old is emancipated and living on their own. They have proven themselves to be an adult and responsible for their own actions. If he is still at home with his parents you should take it to court.

How long a parent can legally ground a child for?

Parents are responsible until the age of majority, which is 18, although in some states the child can choose to leave home at 17 and cannot be forced to return (a loophole created by state law allowing a child to go to jail at 17). Ina strange twist, in those states (like Georgia) should the child leave at 17, the parents are legally responsible for some of their actions until 18.
