Muratic acid or Sulfaric acid
Pool Pumps are designed and built to work hard. You may create some additional back pressure by adding solar panels. as long as the pump is sufficient to fill the solar panels with water you should have no harm done by adding solar to your pool
If you are adjusting pH, add acid by spreading it around the pool with filter pump ON. Leave pump run for a couple of hours after adding acid. If you attempting to adjust Alkalinity, add acid by pouring into one spot in the deep end, with filter pump OFF. Leave pump OFF overnight. I disagree with the statement above. The pump should remain running in all instances. If your pump is scheduled to shut down in less than an hour then wait till the next day where you can add the acid earlier in the day. With the last 2 sentences - that is probably the worst possible answer. Acid poured in a "column" ( one spot) will find it's way to the main drain grate and settle there at the grate and in the sump until the pump starts the next day. Thus sucking all that acid solution directly into the system and the heater - the worse place it could possibly be. The acid may dissapate some in the overnight hours but it may not all get diluted.
A pool pump should only be replaced if and when it fails. A pool pump needs proper maintanance in order to function properly, and should last the life of the pool ith proper care.
Yes
To raise the pH of your pool you add soda ash (sodium carbonate). To lower the pH of your pool add muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) or sodium bisulfate. You should always add chemicals with the pump running and check your levels again once the newly added chemicals have been circulated around the pool.
Our pool guy comes in the early afternoon/late morning every Monday. I check the pool PH around 5 pm, and the readings are all right on.....so I would say five hours? That's our pool, though, I would get one of the PH testing kits you can get at pretty much any pool supply store.Hope this helps!Mrs. GregoryAnswerOur pool installer told us to wait 3 hours after adding acid to the pool. We use the liquid form, so I don't know if the wait time is different for other forms.
5 hours
Remove some water in container (10-20%) and add new water. example: pump water high in cyanuric acid out of a swimming pool and the add fresh water to the pool.
I have an 18' round pool and i use a 1/2 HP pump. It should be more than enough.
Pump out the pool. Pressure wash the pool interior, remove debris. Finish with an acid wash. Check all plumbing for damage etc. Change out the sand in the sand filter (if fitted) Clean all skimmers and leaf filters at the pump and the pool. Fill pool and adjust it chemically after 24hours with pump running.
That depends on filter, pump and plumbing size. What else is plumbed into the system. Does it have a pool cleaner attached and how? All this is called or is referred to as the amount of head. Ken
