Yes. There are several reasons for this. In a typical high school or middle school there are 6-7 periods in a school day. That means 6-7 different sets of students taking the test. IF a teacher gave a final over several days the questions would be spread among the classes and it would lead to cheating. Everyone gets a test on the same day saves this problem. Another reason when giving finals the window for the teacher to correct the test and to get the score into the grades program is very narrow. Generally, finals are given the last week before grades come out and teachers are only given 2-3 days by the administration to get the grades computed and into the office so the student can get the report card. When figuring grades for 100+ students takes time and effort on the part of the teacher to get it done as well as teach their classes and prep for them each day. There is not a lot of time to play around with giving a test over several days. Finally, after 12 weeks of study you should know the info and if you don't it is your problem not the teachers.

School exams have been given to students since teachers and professors decided to teach people. They give quizzes and tests to check and see if you can understand, comprehend, evaluate, synthesize, analyze, and apply the knowledge that was given to you.
yeah they should because they deserve it.
No. Teachers usually give assignments, quizzes, tests, projects and other activites that are evaluated. It depends on the techer. Even class participation can be an evaluation.

Most colleges require that your final exam be done in class on campus. Some online classes you take may give you the option of taking your final online.
Giving teachers respect is vital. They are teaching- which comes in handy later in life- so students should give the teachers full respect. By: listening, not talking back, doing their best work, and displaying appropriate behavior as well as manners.
* For your professors and teachers to know that what they taught has gotten through to their students. * For students to realize if they comprehended the material or not. * For others (university entrance boards or jobs) to know how well you scored. There are occasions when it seems teachers just want to give exams or tests to take up time. This does not happen often, though. Most of the time, exams are given for a good reason, and while students may say they dislike taking them, there needs to be a way to evaluate what a student has learned.
