No- that is why the 22nd amendment was added to the Constitution. It had been an unwritten rule that the President would serve only 2 terms, but Roosevelt broke it so it became the law.

In general no because that is against the constitution.

A. I believe they should. If you have a U.S President that is doing a good job, why would you limit them to only two terms. Whatever happened to "Give the people what they want..." If we, as a nation believe in one person to do a job, and the job is being done well, then what is the problem?! I think it sucks!!

US presidents have always been allowed to serve more than one term and several have done so. In fact, it is something of a black mark for a president to be voted out after just one term except perhaps when, like Polk and Hayes, they make it clear in advance that they will only serve for one term.

This sounds like an essay question to a homework assignment. After Franklin D. Roosevelt served three full terms and a few months of a fourth (until he died), many Republican lawmakers wanted to make an official limit to the number of terms a President can serve. This law became the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution. However, this limit on terms backfired on the party because it prevented Presidents such as Eisenhower and Reagan from continuing for additional terms.

No. That is why the 22nd amendment was added to the Constitution. It was an unwritten lawf from the beginning that Presidents would not seek a third term, but Franklin Roosevelt broke the rule, so people saw they needed to make it a written rule and began the difficult process for amending the Constitution.
