Where is the ignition coil in a 95 Honda Civic?

The coil is located in the distributor internally. If you take the distributor cap off and unscrew the rotor it should become visible. You may have to move a dust cover, but it is in there.

How do I replace the distributor in small block Chevrolet v8?

Bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke. Look at the rotor to make sure its pointing to the No1 plug tower. If it is remove the distributor. THEN DON'T MOVE THE ENGINE. When installing distributor make sure the rotor is pointing to the No1 plug tower and install distributor. You can use a timing lite to reset the timing.

How do you set oil pump engagement grooves on 305 Chevy to get distributor to fall in right place?

Move the crankshaft back and forth a little until the distributor drops. It should drop under it's own weight. Realign timing marks to TDC then double check distributor position.

When does timing chain need replacing in Chevy p series van 1979 350 motor?

remove the distributor cap. turn the motor by hand and watch the rotor on the distributor. once it moves turn the motor the other way. if rotor on distributor doesnt move amost imidiately after you start tuning motor by hand the chain has some stretch in it and most likely should be replaced. the motor will run noticably better with a good tight chain. if its a factory chain with nylon gears it is junk anyways. replace it with a quality metal geared set.

What would cause a rotor to wear on inside?

Either the piston isn't retracting as it should, ir the whole caliper is failing to move as it should, causing the pad to drag and wear both pad and rotor.

How do you install distributor drive on 1600 bug?

The distributor drive is a little shaft with a gear on the end of it that meshes with a gear on the crankshaft. Your first task is to be sure there's not one in there already. Stick your distributor in the hole where it goes, shove it in as far as it will go, and turn the rotor. If it meshes with something in there, you've got a distributor drive. Tighten the distributor clamp after you static-time the engine, and be happy. If you DON'T have one... remove the right-side valve cover. Turn the engine over with a wrench until number 1 cylinder (the one to the front of the car) is in firing position--both valves closed. Get a distributor drive, grease it up (it probably won't go in unless you do), and put it in the hole where it goes. Don't stick it in all the way. Put a rotor in your distributor, mesh the end of the distributor shaft with the distributor driveshaft--it only fits one way--and turn the rotor until the long, narrow end, which is where the fire comes from, is pointing at you. Now push the distributor down until it stops. If you have lived a clean life, the teeth on the distributor drive meshed with the teeth on the crank, and the distributor bottomed out like it was supposed to. No one gets that lucky, so just move the rotor back and forth a little and it will drop right in.

How to install distributor on a 1990 s10 blazer?

At the top of the engine at the fire wall, there should be a cylindrical black piece of plastic with all the spark plugs wires attached, when you replace it it is also a good idea to replace the rotor underneath, Answer: Make sure you mark where the rotor is pointing if you take the rotor off. Make sure that you put the plug wires back the same way as they were removed. If you move the plug wires to different connections it will not run well or may not run at all. Make sure you mark the location of old distributor before you remove it and install the new one in the same location.

How do I adjust the rotar button to point to the number one cylinder?

first determine which cylander is number 1 and which plug lead on distributer is # 1 make a mark on side of distributor body adjacent to #1 plug make a mark on base of distributor and block so if you mess up u know where to start from again now loosen bolt tha holds distributer in block only loosen just enuff to move distributor,to much and distributer will move out of place again remove distributor cap now holding body of distributor, slowly move distributor until rotar button is pointing at #1 position before you tighten bolt on distributer the rotor needs to be set just before top dead centre ,as the points need to open just before rotor hits #1 retighten bolt replace distributor cap try starting engine the distributor can be moved by slightly loosening bolt while engine is running if timing is not exactly right
