Should you be upset if your boyfriend is 11 years older than you and has seriously lied about his age and knew how important that was to you?

In dating a person for a year, and then just recently finding out his real age, I can safely assume that he was lying to you so yes you do have a right to be mad at him. Yes. You have a right to be furious. By pretending to be a different age, he was lying to you. Honesty is important in any relationship. If I were you, I would dump him, but its your choice. (not mine). Yes you should be mad if your boyfriend lied to you. Lies are never acceptable in a relationship no matter what. What's age got to do with it? If you love him does it matter? He obviously loves you and didn't want to lose you. I doubt he actually lied to you, but simply wanted you to get to know him and put your fears to rest. He managed to do this. Get off "being mad" and if you love him and he obviously loves you then enjoy! I swore I would never date a younger man. I always dated men my own age or a few years older than myself. After I divorced, I did date men my own age or older. I was so tired of be mauled and pawed, I took a sabbatical and that's when my best male friend introduced me to his best friend. We started to date and we had the time of our life. We fell in love. I found out he was 4 years younger than I was and I was somewhat concerned, but used my own intelligence and realized we loved each other and so what if he was 4 years younger. We have now been happily married for 34 years. Age is only a #. If you are 17 or younger and he's 26 then this is a problem by law. If you are 25 and he's 19 this shouldn't be a problem.
