Does he have any kind of contact with his child? If he does, he undoubtedly is at some point having contact with the mother about visiting his child, support payments, etc., if the child lives with its mother. An amicable relationship between the parents is the best thing for the child. If he has no relationship with his child at all, it would be thoughtless and make no sense for him to still be in contact with his ex. It would be a cause for concern if your boyfriend was continually chatting with his ex or hanging out with her. But if you knew he had a child when you started dating him, you should have accepted that he is most likely going to have some relationship with his child and at times will be in contact with his child's mother, whether you like it or not.
