Usually you are not supposed to reprogram anything. Just connect the battery and drive the car, it will take about 100-250 miles for ECU to relearn sensors.
The computer could have become confused. disconnect the battery from the vehicle. Leave it unhooked for several hours. Reconnect the battery. This should reset the computer, and hopefully solve the problem.

most modern lambda sensors have a heating element and relay which can drain the battery. To test, disconnect the sensor ,if found to be the cause buy new lambda sensor and check wiring.

In general, the computer can tell you when a sensor has failed. Always run a computer diagnostic test before you rip into changing sensors.
