It depends, if you are feeling lucky then by all means fly to your hearts content, however the high altitudes and low pressure will leave your sinuses open to infection, or sinusitis, which isn't pleasant in the slightest.
You shouldn't excercise vigerously when under the symptoms of any viral infection, the reason being many viruses (cold viruses, echo viruses, enteroviruses) infect the heart muscle causing inflamation (myocarditis) which usually resolves by itself within weeks of the onset of symptoms. This myocarditis can effect the electrical activity of the heart muscle (arythmias) so it's best not to work the heart too hard during this convelescent phase (2 - 3 weeks at most) Occassionally this myocarditis doesn't resolve and can go on to greatly weaken the heart muscle, requiring medication and potentially a heart transplant. When you hear about healthy young sportsman suddenly dying on the sports field, it is often a case of a bad arrythmia caused by myocarditis subsequent to a viral infection (either a subclinical viral infection or one that the sportsman knew he was suffering from) In short, with viruses, it's best to err on the side of caution always. Give yourself a few weeks to get over it, don't exercise too soon following a viral infection.
Although working out does increase your heart rate and body temperature and can help alleviate some symptoms of a sinus cold much in the same way as a low grade fever, it can also tire you out and make it more difficult for your body to fight off infection. Resting and drinking lots of fluids is the best way to get over your infection and fatigue can only prolong your illness.
yes! its the best thing you could do for your body.
