Should you put a mirror beside your betta tank?
No, if you do the fish will keep attacking his reflection. He will be stress most of the time and may get sick.
It depends on the type/brand of conditioner, and how much water is the Betta tank can hold.
It's quite possible that a convict cichlid would kill a betta fish, so they should not be in the same tank
Not nessessarily. Bettas tend to get listless and lazy if you don't change their water often, and if they have no stimulation. Theres a great product out there called a Floating Betta Exercise Mirror that will make your betta think there is another betta in the tank. It can be used to stimulate the fish into more activity. You can find them online, at www.bigalsonline.com (product #25109).
I am sorry to say, but no fish can go in with betas. They are very territorial and will most likely hurt the other fish. Try this. Put a mirror up to the tank. The beta may throw itself at the tank and try to attak its mirror image.
yes they can live beside each other i have a tank in the hexagon with all of them beside each other. they will try to fight still but that is normal.
The tank should be changed partially (25%) weekly.
it depends i have a male with a female betta, in a 2.5 gallon tank, they get along, i wouldnt risk it, no
If you betta is in a small tank, placing it in a location that has a warm ambient room temperature should be enough to keep it to betta preferred warmth. If you do not, then you should look at getting a small heater for your tank, but you may need to get a larger tank to allow for the use of a heater as there are no heater models made for anything smaller than a… Read More
Is the tank too small? It should be about 10 gallons. Is the male betta worn out or doesn't even move laying on the bottom of the tank? That's might be why. you can visit: www.bettatalk.com .
A betta fish's temperate should be between 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
Some of the basic things that can stress your Betta fish would be: - Having other Betta fish in the same tank (they are very aggressive) - Cool water temperatures (should be 78 on average) - Water currents (water should be fairly still) - Removing your Betta fish from tank too often Among many others. But the biggest one would be having an UNCLEAN TANK. The water should be changed at least once a week… Read More
i wouldn't put salt into a betta tank. i have a fish tank and i put a little bit of salt in and it killed one of my fish
Can I put a wild snail in my betta's fish tank to keep it clean I'm guessing not but it's worth a shot?
No, you should not put a wild snail in a Betta fish tank. The snail could give the Betta disease and cause the Betta to die.
Not recommended. The Oscar will likely be attracted by the betta's long fins and will attack it, and possibly then eat it. Bettas should only be put in a community aquarium where the other fish are not 'nippers' and will leave the betta alone, but an Oscar might actually kill it. Also, if you put a betta in a community tank, only one male betta should be put into the tank or they will fight… Read More
i want to know what size tank i should put my male betta for one betta itself usually they like at least a 2.5 gallon the best for one but its your choice they like bigger tanks but this is the one i prefer!
Male Bettas can live with female Betta fish except when they have laid eggs. Male Betta fish should not be placed in the same aquarium as another male Betta.
The betta fish should be in a different tank
YES! Betta fish are very aggresive. If you put another fish tank in front of the tank holding the betta fish, the betta will flare. So i wouldn't try putting the betta in the goldfish tank.
Why did my female betta or what I think is my female betta made a bubble nest when I moved her from my community tank to her own tank do I have a female betta or a short fin male?
If you would like to know what gender your betta is, look for the egg spot. (for females) It should be a small white cloud between the head and body. If your betta has one, it's a female. If your betta doesn't have one, it's a male.
Yes, your betta water conditioner should be a standard water conditioner that can be used in any fish tank.
just keep it at room temperature. If you clean the tank, have your Betta stay in a different container of water and leave the tank full of water (sink water) and keep out for about 5 to 15 minutes. put aquamarin in it and stir.
Only 1. Usually a Betta is all that is kept in a 3 gallon tank
it depends on exactly how much water the tank will hold, and the brand/type of conditioner
A minimal tank size of 2.5 gallons is recommended for a single Betta fish.
A 1 gallon tank could have one betta fish, but you will need to be diligent about changing the water on a regular basis. The smallest tank that should be used, even for a betta, is a 2.5 gallon tank as it at least gives the fish swimming room.
A betta is best as a solitary fish and it would be better to remove it from your main tank and give it a small tank to itself. You can buy very inexpensive betta tank kits for one betta.
This will depend on the type of fish. Some fish, like goldfish, are likely not to pay much attention to it at all, while a betta fish, particularly a male, may believe there is another male in the tank & will flare and/or poke at the mirror trying to fight with the non-existent fish.
No a betta fish is not a social animal and can kill any fish within seconds but sometimes if placed beside each other for A month or week (depends) in separate tanks they might become friendly.
Well First i don't think you should have three betta in one tank because betta fish are fighting fish in chinese so they will fight one another if you put them in seperate tanks they will stare at each other for a long time and that would be boring to see your betta fish watching your other betta fish 24/7. I think you should have a bowl tank that is just a little small and… Read More
No, you should never keep a male and female betta fish together for long time periods. They should only be put in the same tank for breeding purposes and then separated after.
yes a betta can live in a 10 gal. tank
Well, if you love your Betta fish, then it should live by itself. But if you add another Betta to your current Betta fish's tank, then they will start a fight because Betta Fish are Siamese fighting fish and if one Betta is in contact of another Betta, the possible reason would be a fight between them two.
No fish can live with a betta in small tank. but you can always house with your betta a Golden Apple Snail.
your betta will do just fine in close proximity to the turtle
Betta are airbreathers. So long as the ammonia and nitrates are okay, you don't need filters on a Betta tank.
Provided the tank is large enough and the catfish is a tropical species there should be no problems.
It's because it is sick or pregnant if it is pregnant that means your going to have babies in a couple of months and in that time you should take care of your betta fish but if she or he is sick you should put some medicine in that tank so your betta fish won't die!
If it is a male betta and its finns are not openned (like when they get angry), while he is looking at the reflection (I'm guessing it's almost like a mirror reflection) there is something wrong about your fish. Maybe he/she is lonely, or it is breeding season for your fish. But careful about putting two betta fishes in one tank~!
Ok, you will need: Food ( refer to below ), tank, plants or hiding places ( optional ), betta fish tank thermometer, betta fish ( DUH ), water conditioner, and if you want to be really nice, betta revive ( again optional ). Step 1: Feeding Betta fish should be fed 2-4 times a day depending on the size of the fish. Remember, their stomach is the size of their eye, not very big! Betta… Read More
Betta fish should be kept in a 3 gallon tank but a 1 gallon tank is fine for temporary housing. Many people keep them in 1 gallon tanks and although this is okay they will not be as happy as they can be in a slightly larger tank. You can keep them in a much larger tank with other tropical fish as well
I have a baby RES i am wondering can i put my male Betta fish in the same tank as well as when do i need to get a bigger tank i have a 10 gallon tank right now.?
You should not put your Betta fish in the same tank in the first place, most likely the male will kill your other fish. by res do you mean red eared slider?
As with all fish. Bigger is always better. A Betta should really be in at least a 5gal tank IMO
If your betta is male, then he should remain as a solitary fish; you can add a few ghost shrimp, but male bettas are best left alone.
NEVER put two bettas in the same tank no matter what sex they are. they will eat one another instantly.
no because beta fish are very teritorial and is you put tow betas toghether they might fight to death just like if you put a mirror in front of the tank and it sees it self it might hit its head against the tank
Yes you should be able to use latex gloves while cleaning a bettas tank, there should not be any residue left afterwards.
No. A betta requires water between 80 and 86 degrees, while goldfish require water between 72 and 78. Also, there is not enough room for these fish in that tank. 2 goldfish should have a 20 gallon tank minimum to themselves.
referring to the mirror floating and idea - it is a bad idea to do that as to the fact that your betta fish will end up hurting itself due to the fact that he/she thinks there is another Betta in their tank. Sometimes female Betta's don't get along with one another either. Never put two Male Betta's together as to they will fight until death. Referring to Stimulation - We got 6 Zebra Fish… Read More
A male Betta will attempt to kill any other Betta in its immediate vicinity. An adult female Betta would be courted and if she responds and breeds with him he will not kill her until after she has spawned. She should be removed from the breeding tank immediately after spawning has ceased.
in order for a betta to live with glo fish there needs to be at least 6 glo fish. they also need to be in the tank for at least an hour before the betta is put in the tank.
