If you have new cats you should let them walk around in you house.
The cats are going to hide but they do get more use to you when they are around you(or even when they are around your dog, cat etc).I got a sheet to from the vet to! it said to keep them in one room but i have worked (i was a vet before for 13 years)with cats in the past and they need to move around your house.
Not if they are all in your house. If you own a shelter or have a HUGE yard where you let them roam free with a fence, then probably.
different people will do different things I personally would let the cat roam freely because some cats are house cats but others like to explore

Lizards need a pretty specific enclosure and diet whereas cats can just roam about the house and be fed cat food which is easy to buy from the supermarket. They both have needs though which you should research before buying either one.
Sometimes people let their cats be outside cats because they do not like them in the house. Other times they do it because they think it cruel to confine them. Outside cats have been known to have shorter life-spans than inside cats. They are exposed to more things.
Cats can roam in the wild in almost every state in the USA, however, they will probably freeze to death in Alaska during the winter, if they are outdoors.
As long as the dog or cat leaves the raccoon alone, then the raccoon shouldn't harm them. If the raccoon feels threatened, if it is cornered or it is injured and the cat or dog is being intimidating, then the raccoon may feel the need to defend itself which could cause harm to the other animal. Also, if the raccoon is rabid, it may attack another animal which could prove very harmful to the cat or dog as unless rabies is treated promptly and properly, it is fatal.
House cats are not native wildlife and should not be allowed to roam freely. It is not good for the environment and is cruel to the cat. That's why they are called "house" cats. While raccoons rarely will attack a cat, it does happen. Cats can also be infected with rabies, distemper and other diseases by raccoons.
Probably in a 1-1.5 block radius.
roam means walk around the house or walk around some where when somebody don't know where your at.
Many domestic cats live in warm houses along with their human owners. Some cats like to roam outside, which will have other forms of shelter such as sheds and bushes.
A captive raccoon is a raccoon kept in a cage, pen or loose in a house but not allowed to roam freely in nature as they should be. Wild animals should be allowed to be free.
