I think you have two questions here: Should you stay? And must your boyfriend be suicidal? I have to ask -- can you get him into therapy? Depending on the relationship, of the three options -- you leaving, him dying, and him in therapy, the third sounds like the best.

If your boyfriend truly IS suicidal, GET AWAY!. Your own life may be in danger. That kind of relationship is not uplifting, nor will it ever bring satisfaction.IF you can get him into therapy, he may become less of a threat, but YOU don't need that kind of depression in your life.
