You should tell your parents about C's, D's, and F's, because they know in their hearts that it reflects how they raised you. They can teach you, and they can teach you to learn, but they cannot make you smart, nor can they make you listen in class. If it's academic, ask a teacher for help with what you missed. If it's behavioral, there's nothing anyone but you can do. So, yes, tell them. But decide who's fault it is beforehand.
