If the cause of the dead battery is from the charging system failure, yes.
While the car is running the alternator should be recharging the battery faster than stereo can drain it. I suspect you either have a problem with the alternator or its time to get your battery replaced. Until you get it fixed, if you don't turn on the radio, it wont drain your battery :) If it is a high power model, it needs to be wired directly to the battery.
If your phone dies fast you may need to get a new battery. You should turn off all running applications that you are not using to save on battery power.
The alternator is run by a belt connected to the engine. When the engine is running the alternator is turning. The alternator is what produces the electrical current that charges the battery & powers everything electrical while the engine is running. the battery is mainly to start the engine.
If you are parked with the motor running, engage the parking/emergency brake. Turn the ignition off and restart the engine. The daytime running lights should not be on.
If you use the radio without the engine running you will eventually discharge the power from the battery. It should be fine for a couple of hours, If not, your battery may need replacing.
There are many reasons. How is your battery life?
i am not exactly sure but i have heard that if you turn the sidekick on, hold the [R] key take out the battery while still holding [R] then put the battery back in then turn your sidekick on, then let go of [R] then it should reset the original settings and should work for AT&T
The AC should have been running while it was being charged.
Check battery and cables
I take it you have daytime running lights , if so by engaging the emergency / parking brake the daytime running lights should go off
The battery is weak and needs replaced. when the battery is weak the computer can forget how to idle.
it is still running off the battery, most of the time it will turn off when you open the door
