If you get another guinea pig he may help the maybe blind one to find good eating/sleeping places and they should get along perfectly!
Guinea pigs have big appetites. Its when they dont eat you should be worried. It sounds like your piggy is healthy. well when my guinea pig was pregant she ate alot so it mite be because my pig was only 6-8 months old when she had them. so she mite be pregant
Yes. But It's best to know that they will most likely not get along at first. To fix that you will have to keep them in the same cage for about 2 weeks (It will give them time to show who is dominant). But otherwise, yes, guinea pigs do get lonely and should always have a friend. WARNING: NEVER GET YOUR GUINEA PIG A FRIEND AND THEN GIVE IT AWAY, THE GUINEA PIG WILL GET LONELY AND START BEING DEPRESSED AND MAY STOP EATING.
If your guinea pig has crusty eyes, most likely it has some sort of infection or allergy causing the eye to produce discharge. If left untreated and undiagnosed, it could potentially cause blindness and systemic issues, not to mention discomfort and/or pain. You should take your guinea pig to your veterinarian to avoid any further discomfort or issues and have the problem treated by a professional.
They are sociable creatures we had 3 2 died we introduced 2 more and they are fine
Usually, and most of the time, Guinea Pigs will stop what they are doing and stand still, when they are: Frightened, Curious, and when they hear an un-farmiliar noise. This is totally normal for any guinea pig to do, so don't be worried if your piggy is eating and stops still for a second or two.
No you shouldn't be worried, It is a normal thing
Yes i think you should take it to the vets or somewhere like that and get it cheked out just incase.
The website linked below has recordings of the sounds guinea pigs make and tells what emotion each sound is expressing.
No. Blindness probably occurs with the same rarity in guinea pigs as it does with other creatures in the animal world. Also, albino guinea pigs don't necessarily suffer blindness any more often than non-albinos.
it all depends on the breed and colourings. if it is an albino it most likely to be blind.Second AnswerNo. Blindness probably occurs with the same rarity in guinea pigs as it does with other creatures in the animal world. Really, the best thing for a guinea pig would be to get it a friend, but if you cannot do this for some reason, a mirror attached to the OUTSIDE of the cage will work too. It has to be placed on the outside, unless it has been tested safe for the pigs.
If you only have one guinea pig get him/her another guinea pig friend of the same gender. It could be lonely.
Actually you CAN give a Guinea pig a bath but you should not put them back in their cage when they are damp (this is how they get colds). It should be around 50 degrees or higher when you give him/her a bath but be sure to remember to dry your friend with a towel (NO HAIR DRYERS). SQ
