disconnect the negative battery cable then the wires from the starter. Remove the mounting bolts and drop the starter down. Try this for Chev S10 problems. Buy the Chilton General Motors publication #28860. It covers S10s 1982-93 from detailing to engine rebuilds, including changing the starter.

No...The bolt mounting hole are different...the 2.2 bolts will cross the starter in a "T" fashion and the 2.4 bolts will go in a line "with" the starter. They have different part numbers at the store as well....
The 2000 Mercury Sable starter will have three retaining bolts. There will be two cable retaining nuts on the front of the starter.

Should be 2 mounting bolts at the rear of caliper
Remove 2 mounting bolts and replace
On the inboard side of the caliper.

The starter motor/solenoid on a 2000 Chevy S10 Blazer is on the lower passenger side of the engine block. If your trying to replace it, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the differential carrier shield. Disconnect the bolted solenoid cables. Remove 2 vertical bolts securing the starter motor to the engine block. When reinstalling starter, tighten mounting bolts to 50 Nm/37 lb. ft.

Remove the positive battery cable from your 2000 Saturn battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the three starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
The starter is located beneath the throttle body. Remove the intake tube, then the starter bolts can be removed and the starter replaced.
