Maharaja Ranjit Singh is known as Sher-e-Punjab.

He united Punjab and extended Sikh rule to areas which now consists of Both punjabs of India and Pakistan, Kashmir,haryana, Himachal,some parts of NWFP of Pakistan(including peshawar)...........and Tibet(for brief time)

His capital was Lahore.
