I have lived in a big city for 2 years now and I love it - it is perfect if you like to enjoy the night life (you can just walk home from the pub, and go out whenever you feel like it). It is also great if you like to stay up late, as you can just go out and get food at any time.
I am moving to the suburbs soon though, for two reasons: I need a second bedroom, and larger places in the city are quite expensive. Also, the noise from neighbours and various bars nearby is starting to get quite annoying!

More space for your money I've lived in New York City ever since i was born, and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. My mother jokes that she moved from Queens to Manhattan so that she could buy a kiwi at three in the morning, and once she actually did. In the book Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney, the main character lives in Manhattan, and it says that he'll go out after midnight just to buy a toothbrush. Whenever I was at camp in the country, I always hated the fact that there was no noise, and would play my CD player just to be able to go to sleep. I have always liked shopping in the city, but I would never want to live there. I live on a busy street, and in the summer, the motorcycles and cars are really loud and annoying. I can't imagine hearing that constantly every day! Plus, I hate how people are always pushy- I always feel like I'm gonna get mugged or kidnapped or something. And the traffic is the worst. I'm very happy living in the suburbs. I lived in London for 2 weeks and that was 2 weeks too long for me. The pace of life is too fast, no one has any time for anyone. It's green fields for me all the way.
