Someone from a bank came and asked you for your name and your dads name but your dad was already passed away any one know what this could mean?

Are they really from a bank? If not, they could possibly be attempting to guess an answer to a secret question for online banking or other protected information.
First of all, I've never heard of a bank employee going to someone's house to ask those type of questions or any other questions for that matter. They already have access to those answers in their database system.
I would be extremely suspicious of their real motives whether is fishing for identity theft information or some type of intimidation tactic for whatever malicious intentions they are concocting.
Rule #1: DO NOT OPEN DOOR!!
Rule #2: Ask them to leave a business card in your mailbox
Rule #3: Report to local law enforcement about this suspicious behavior just so that they have a record of it whether it turns out to be a thief or a greedy banker.
Rule #4: DO NOT OPEN DOOR or GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!
During these hard pressing economic times, there are new scams born every minute.
