The southernmost tip of the African continent is Cape L'Agulhas (commonly called Cape Agulhas) and is located within the Republic of South Africa. At this point the Indian ocean meets the Atlantic Ocean.

Cape Agulhas, is located about 200km to the east of (and south of) Cape Town. The town of Agulhas is relatively small and has a small tourist industry, a lot less that Cape Point(due south of Cape Town), mainly due to its distance away from the normal tour routes.

Cape Agulhas (southern most tip of the African continent) - 34°50'0.58"S 20° 0'0.56"E

The northern most point of Africa is Ras ben Sakka, 950 west from Cape Blanc (often confused as The most northern tip) . Cape Bon is also mistakingly mentioned but it is not even close.

Tunisia has Africa's most northern point, if you only count mainland Africa. However, there are some Moroccan islands that are even higher.
