Any amount of bleeding or spotting counts as a withdrawal bleed when you're on hormonal contraception. Cramping and bloating may still occur, but bleeding will be lighter. Cramping and bloating should also decrease over the first three months of NuvaRing use. Cramping and bloating could also be signs of infection, so talk with your health care provider about whether an exam is needed in your case.
Yes, inserting the first NuvaRing will often shorten a woman's period.
You may not have any more bleeding this month. Use a backup method for seven days, but you're probably protected right away if you started NuvaRing with spotting.

Yes, there is a possibility that the NuvaRing can make your period come at an irregular time.
You mean you can not keep your boyfriend erect, mine stays hard all the time... ...but when we first started dating, I was not on birth control, and condoms were uncomfortable for both of us. When I got on the NuvaRing, he started losing his erection. The problem was that he did not trust the NuvaRing until I got my period after the first month. Once I got it, then got off it (my period, not the NuvaRing), things were great. Maybe he's anxious about trying to impress you, or he's afraid of getting your pregnant.
If she started the NuvaRing on the first day of her period, you've got nothing to worry about.
If you are cramping but your period has not started, it is nothing to worry about. Many females experience stomach cramps, backache, mood swings and cravings in the days leading up to their period. If the pain is too much, you could take a painkiller and rest with a hot water bottle against your stomach.
