For one thing if you get a clogged injector with single injector it probably wont run, or miss fire badly. But with multi-point injectors it will only have somewhat poor idle and power with a little miss in the firing. It is more dependable when you are on long trips and mileage is a little better mpg.

The efficiency of the engine is increased when the fuel is injected as close to the intake valve as possible. This minimizes puddling of the fuel along the intake passage allowing condensation to form when cold (lean) and droplets of fuel to collect run in unexpectedly when hot (rich). When the intake valve opens and the injector sprays directly at that valve, only the exact amount of fuel desired by the computer enters the combustion chamber. This requires at least one injector per intake valve, thus multi-point injection. In the case of a V8 engine, those injectors can be fired in batches of left bank and right bank or they can be fired sequentially. The Chevy Corvette transitioned from batch to sequential along about 1985 and made a big difference in MPG and HP.

What fuel injection does a 1996 Chevy 350 vortec engine have?

vortec trucks have MPI Multipoint fuel injection. yes it's not getting enough electic to the wires to fuel pump

What is Multi Point Fuel Injection?

Multi point fuel injection is the latest way to deliver fuel to the cylinder while sticking to ever increasingly hard emissions tests. A multipoint fuel injection system typically delivers fuel to each cylinder individually. (each cylinder has it's own injector) Central port fuel injection and carburetion delivered fuel to a central point.

How many horse power is a 5.0 liter engine?

depending on year and setup, carbuerated, fuel injected, multipoint fuel injection, the range is between 170hp and 230hp.

Where is the fuel injector relay on a 1990 jeep wrangler?

You did not state which engine. The 6 cylinder was carberated so does not have fuel injection. The 4.oL fuel injection was first put in 1991 Wranglers 6 cylinders. The 4 cylinder for 1990 had a throttle body injection (similar to a carberator except the computer "injects" fuel into the air stream as it passes- different from multipoint injection where fuel is injected directly into each cylinder- hence multipoint designation). My Haynes manual says that on most 87-95 models, the relays are located next to the battery. There is also un under hood fuse center it might be in or even could be in the fuse block, but more likely under the hood.

What is the ignition timing for a 1998 Jeep Wrangler with 2.5 engine?

Only a carburated engine will have a timing value. The multipoint fuel injection motors timing is controlled by the computer.

Does a 1989 Honda Civic SI have a carburetor or fuel injection?

should be fuel injection (SI sequential injection) Most Hondas made up until about 1988 were carbureted, at which point they all switched to fuel injection. (The main difference then was whether they used dual point injection or multipoint injection...the Si models used multipoint.) Prior to 1988, you could tell if a Honda sport model was carbureted by the model designation. "S" was used for the sport models that were carbureted (S = Sport), while "Si" stood for the sport models that were fuel injected (Si = Sport Injected). A prime example was the Prelude, which offered a twin-carb version called the "S" and a fuel injected version of the same car called "Si." This naming strategy was common in the 80s with other manufacturers as well. Take, for instance, the Merkur XR4Ti. The "T" stood for "Turbocharged" while the "i" stood for fuel "injection," in the same was that the "i" stands for fuel injection on Honda Si models.

What is the optimum fuel pressure for a ford 302 engine?

Should be 39psi on a multipoint or central fuel injection system. One with a mechanical pump/carburetor I think it's below 10psi, maybe 6-8 or so.

Where is the IAT sensor on a 1996 Geo Tracker located?

The IAT sensor is mounted in the backside of the air cleaner housing for a 1.6 MFI (Multipoint fuel-injection) engine and for a TFI (Throttle body fuel-injection) enging it's located on the right hand side of the engine, mounted in the intake manifold below the throttle body.

How do you adjust the choke on a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500?

Is this a trick question? Carburetors have chokes. Carburetors haven't been installed on factory vehicles in a long time. The fuel delivery system in your truck is sequential multipoint electronic fuel injection. Fuel enrichment is controlled by the computer adjusting the pulsewidth of the injectors.

State two advantages or multi-point fuel injection when compared to single point injection for a si engine?

It has a Better spray pattern and also will inject fuel in the open intake valve (indirect injection).
