Remove the Phillips screw or thumbscrew at the back of the seat, lift the rear of the seat slightly and pull it towards the rear tire. It should come right off.
It usually goes of if you put on your seat belt.
take out the tool box u will see 2 nuts, use a 10mm wrench to take them off. pop out rear seat. to take off the front seat u take off the other two nuts on the back of the front seat. also 10mm wrench

There is a keyhole on the left side of the seat near the rear. Simply insert your key and turn while pulling up on the rear of the seat. Once the rear of the seat is lifted, continue to pull the seat toward the rear of the bike to free it from the frame.
I have a 2001 Aurora and the battery is under the rear seat. You can pull up on the rear seat from the front of it and the entire seat will come off.
