The Germans were expecting an allied invasion, but did not known when or where it would be. The allies gave every impression the allied landings would be at the pas-de-calais area which was the closest point from Britain and was where the Germans expected the landings to occur. Hitler kept most of his heavy tank units at the pas-de-calais area for the invasion, which help the landing at Normandy as German tanks could have effected the allied landings..........
