The Louisiana Farm labor act of 1865 was one of the black codes that tried to take away black's rights. After the civil war the South was upset that their slaves were taken away so they made these black codes to limit rights for blacks. It says that:
1. Negroes are not allowed to roam around places they weren't told to or they will pay a fine.
2. Negroes will not be allowed to keep or rent a house within the said area or else they will be fined greatly.
3. Negroes are not allowed to carry weapons unauthorized by their employers.
4. Negroes are not allowed to get drunk or fines will be paid.
5. Lastly Negroes are required to work for a white employer.
