very hard question to answer

when you look into ancient dravidian(south Indian)culture it was said to have given equal respect to women and the society was not suppressed

but when you read north Indian epics like Mahabharata women you can see that women are not given equal rights as men does

and the Caste System was the worst which denies education for the poor and some caste people were also denied to travel over seas

considering that we don't have any proper evidence where dravidian people come from and what was the beginning of Sanskrit people who also gave us the Vedas it is a very tricky question to answer
