Well I'll do my best to answer this question since (I'm a girl). I think the best way to ask out a girl is to ask her out directly because if you get your friend to ask her out for you then she won't really know how you feel about her or if it's really true that you want to go out with her. Though I can understand if your shy and that's why you want a friend or someone to ask her out for you, or a note. But to girls the best way would be to do it when there isn't a lot of people, but not compleatly alone because it might freak her out a little if only you and her are there. So just ask her. Go for her have confidence in your self.

But, I do have a girlfriend, and she and I have been together for nearly 10 months now, so I believe I have at least a little bit of knowledge. So here it is: Ask her in person. Dont send a friend to do it. You'll look like a coward. And when you do ask, dont make it out of the blue. Try to lead into the subject, maybe asking if she's been to eat at the place you want to ask her to, if you want to go out to eat, or ask her if she's seen the movie you want to take her to. Most importantly, dont be nervous (or at least try), and don't make her feel uncomfortable. Hope I helped.
