I think it is spelled, Hellix. Take it from me. Unless your prepared for a long haul, don't bother with those. They do make something called, Threaded inserts. Here's the issue for this whole thing however. The metal the thermostat sits in is Aluminum. The bolts are cast steel or iron. They fuse to the thermostat housing over time. If you keep trying stuff, that metal just keeps detiorating. Then you can't use anything in the hole because it is vertually gone. So the best thing to do is take off the housing. It is not that hard. This way you can heat the bolt with a gas or argon torch so it will be able to be removed. If heating the bolt shank won't remove it. For as little as $20, at a Napa Auto parts, you can get a new housing. I know someone who didn't take this step and tried the coils, inserts etc. What should have taken 1/2 hour, took 2 months. God bless your efforts.
waterneck/thermostat housing
no but they may have broke a wire or disconnected a wire and not hooked it back up

If the bolt broke off inside the block, you can purchase a tool called an easy out. This tool allows you to remove any broken bolts of various sizes.
Drain the cooling systemFollow the upper radiator hose to the engine to locate the thermostatCompress the hose clamp with pliers then slide clamp away from thermostat housingRemove the bolts and detach the housing cover.Stuff rag into the engine opening and remove all traces of old gasket. So, I have a question about an 87 Honda Accord. During the winter (Colorado) I started my car and blew a bolt off the thermostat housing that connects it to the engine... I'm not sure what that part is, or how to fix it, but I would really like to fix it. Do you know what that part is called? Or is it just connected and I would need a whole new engine? Again it's the part between the engine and the thermostat housing.... The bolt busted out and broke the loop that it was put into to hold the thermostat to the engine... ANYONE?
You will have to replace the broken component. With out knowing what line broke, or what part the line broke off of, I can not give a better answer.
A broken starter housing is typically caused by either improper installation or manufacturing defect.
It is possible that you broke the motors when you forced the covers open. Try turning the headlights on and off and listen to see if you can hear anything from the motors. If you do, check to make sure that the connecting rod between the covers isn't broken.
