Since we don't know what is on your list my guess is one of the items is wanting a divorce from his wife to marry Ann Boleyn. His argument with the pope (who was Catherine's uncle) led to his leaving the Catholic Church and the start of the reformation. The fact that the king confiscated all church property also was motivation for him to outlaw the Catholic Church. He could use a bit more in his treasury and the church was ripe with goodies.

King Henry VIII of England did not invent a new religion, but he introduced the Church of England or Anglicanism as a separate entity from the Roman Catholic Church. This occurred as a result of his desire for an annulment to his marriage, which the Pope refused to grant.

Catherine of Aragon is important in English history. She was Henry the VIII first wife. It was his desire to divorce her that sparked the creation of the Church of England. Catherine was Queen Mary's mother. Both were devout Catholics who never accepted Henry's split from the Catholic Church.
