The distinction between protostomers and deuterostomers is based on differences in their what?

Invertebrates develop as either protostomes or deuterostomes. During development, a protostome's first opening is its mouth. Deuterostomes, on the other hand, have their anus as their first opening during development.

Compare and contrast protostomes and deuterostomes?

The difference between protostomes and deuterostomes can first be analyzed within embryonic development. During development, an opening on the surface of the embryo will eventually connect to the the developing gut, which is called the archenteron, to the outside environment. The opening on the surface of the embryo is called the blastopore. Later on, a second opening at the opposite end of the embryo turns the pouch-like gut into a digestive tube. In protosomes, the blastopore develops into the mouth and the second opening forms the anus. In deuterostomes, the blastopore develops into the anus and the second opening forms the mouth. Also, examples of protostomes are mollusks and examples of deuterostomes would be us!!this is a good answer, but here is more info...for protostomes, During early cell divisions the cells almost immediately become determined, which means it differentiates what it becomes in the organ while Deuterostomes are not cell specific. so protostomes have determinate cleavage while deuterostomes have indeterminate cleavage.deuterostomes also usually are Cnidaria and Echinodermata and they show radial symmetry. In most protostome animals with a true coelom, the body cavity originates as a split within a bud of mesodermal tissue at the time of gastrulation. This method of coelom formation is termed schizocoelous , and occurs in animals like segmented worms and mollusks. In most deuterostome animals the coelom originates from an outpocketing of the archenterons during gastrulation. This method of coelom formation is called enterocoelous.

How is a blastopore used to indicate evolutionary relationships?

The blastopore is an indentation that forms during early embryonic development. Its fate can differ between species, with some having the blastopore develop into the mouth (protostomes) and others into the anus (deuterostomes). This distinction is used to infer evolutionary relationships between organisms, as species that share similar blastopore fates are considered more closely related.

What is the difference between schizocoelous and enterocoelous?

Schizocoelous found in protostomes and this is destriptive for coelom development during which archentron froms and coelom begins as splits within the solid mesodermal mass. Entrocoelous found in deuterostomes and coelom development during which the mesoderm arises as lateral outpocketing of archentron with hollows that become coelomic cavity.

What is the definition of a particle arrangement?

The distinction between states (that is solids, liquids and gases) is based on differences in molecular interelationships

Do the us great plains run into Canada?

The area becomes the Prairies of Canada We make that distinction as there are important differences between the plains and prairies even though they are connected.

How is teen pregnancy similar to adult pregnancy?

The main biological process is fairly similar between the two. There are some miniscule differences though, if I'm nog mistaken. It's only society that makes a distinction between them.

What is the difference between protosome and deuterosome?

Protostomes Deuterostomes 1.Mouth develops first then anus 1. Anus develops first then mouth 2.Blastopore develops into mouth 2.Blastopore develops into anus 3.Coelom absent and a schizocoel 3. Coelom develops as enterocoel by fusion develops by a split of mesoderm of gut pouches. 4.Cleavage is spiral and determinate 4. Cleavage is radial and indeterminate. 5.Larva is trochophore. 5. Larva is bipinnaria or tornaria 6.E.g. Molluscs, annelida & 6.E.g. Echinodermata & Chordata arthropodes

How does wickham use details to establish the differences between the brothers?

Wickham uses physical descriptions, behaviors, and interactions to establish differences between the brothers. He may highlight their contrasting personalities, values, or the ways they relate to other characters in the story. By focusing on specific details, Wickham can effectively create a clear distinction between the brothers for the readers.

How are a mesa and a butte alike?

The differences between a butte and a mesa is that a butte, generally, is a hill with a flattened top while the mesa is considered to be a mountain with a flattened top. This distinction between buttes and mesas is determinant on size of the structure, which is what causes them to be a confusing distinction. A butte is often times the remnant of a mesa that has been worn down over the years.

What is the difference between a regular pentagon and an irregular pentagon?

A regular pentagon has all its sides of equal length and all its angles equal. An irregular pentagon does not. Several other differences follow from this distinction.
