More likely it is a window regulator, or maybe a guide bearing. Both are cheap parts that are expensive to have replaced.
I have a 94 s10 blazer. My drivers window gets stuck sometimes in the heat. It simply stops, and i have to wait for a few minutes to put it up. If this isn't the case, there is no real method for unsticking a window without having to open up the door panels and id the problem. You may have a faulty switch also. Try putting it up from the drivers controls.See Related LinksSee the Related Link for "window will not release" for the answer.
If the window is stuck in the down position on a Chevy Silverado, the door panel will have to come off to access the cable mechanism and fix the window. If the windows are electric, there will also be the wiring assembly for the window to remove.
Hi, Most of the time a problem like this is either the wiring between the switch and the window motor or the switch. You will need to do a little troubleshooting, but it is a relatively simple circuit that controls the windows. I have a link below that will explain how the windows work and also has a drawing of the circuit. Good Luck, Greg
My rear passenger window sometimes gets stuck in the down position. To roll up the back window I need to SLAM shut driver side door really hard. The driver side door has the master panel for all windows. Sometimes the master switch button for the rear window gets stuck in the down position and by slamming the door it cause the back windows switch to pop up to it's normal position. This is only a temporary work around and does not fix the problem. My car is 1995 and I have doing this procedure for the past 2 years. It works for me and I no intention on getting it repaired permanently.

Your window security button is on. You probably hit it without knowing. Just look the button that is by the window controls and press it. That will fix your problem. Why do I know this? Because it just happened to me and I called my friend Eddie and he told me what to do! : - ) Janna
the window motor might be bad or there is not of power in your cords to power it
my passenger window did the same thing. I had to take the whole door panel off and one of the bolts on the bracket that connects the window to the motor was off so i put it back together and it works fine. there are only 2 bolts its actually very easy to fix.
If you can't find drivers and you have used option "Windows Update" which can find drivers for almost any device... Then you are stuck with two options. First one is make driver which requires knowledge of programming languages as well as programming for certain hardware (your card). Second option is to purchase a better video card.
Take the door apart and disconnect the seized motor from linkage and tape up window and replace motor.
my power windows quit working, both driver and passanger door switches dont work. i tested all fuses and they work. i think its a power window relay. please help! my windows are stuck down ;-(
sure it's the motor and not the window regulator? The regulator is made of plastic (stupid VW they know it's a problem and won't do a recall) when it breaks the window is stuck down because the cables twist. I have this problem now and went to VW site and they have a video online to show how to fix the problem. But you have to order the parts from them.
