representative democracy
Colonial Georgia was a royal colony, meaning it was governed by a representative from England (also called Great Britain). A royal colony is 'a colony ruled or administered by officials appointed by and responsible to the reigning sovereign of the parent state.'Amy clantain
They were never called that because of any reason at all. They were only called the 13 Original Colonies.
The English colonies had three distinct forms of government. There was a self-governing system, Proprietary Colonies which were owned by the king, and those colonies owned by individuals (Dukes) called Royal colonies.
A republic is also called a representative democracy.
There is no English representative body. England is a part of, but not the same as, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The representative - ie elected - part of the UK Government is The House of Commons a part of the UK parliament.

If the American colonies were to stay in England, America would not be the same. The 13 colonies were the first to allow religious freedom and have religious tolerance as proven in some as history's greatest document such as Mayflower Compact and Maryland's Tolerance. Also if the American colonies were to stay in England there wouldn't be the democratic system of government we have today because the colonies sprouted a system of government called The House of Burgess es which was the start of a representative government which lead to our country today.
Becuse every citizen has a right to take part in government
