The function of alviolis is to store oxygen. the avilois are atached to artries where oxygen is passed from alviolis to artreis and then into your heart. the blood that runs in that artry that enters your heart is called oxynated blood. this is red. the blood that leaves your heart that goes back to the lung is call dioxynated blood and this is blue. they are blue beacsue they have no oxygen
