One possibility that may cause the blower to not run is the blower resistor block. It is a 1 by 3 inch block mounted in the heater airbox behind the glovebox. If you had a 3 speed fan and lost one or two of the speeds at a time, this is probably the reason. A good start in checking would be to connect a voltmeter to each wire on the connector and click through the positions on the knob. If there is no power at the resistor block, the problem is likely toward the fuse.
I assume you mean "heater". And a sudden failure is probably just the motor going bad.
Ok..I figured it out. Turns out the rear defroster is the problem. When I unplugged it from the back windshield, blower/heater works great!! So...to all those out there..if your blower motor blows fuses...check the blower motor first...then the HVAC and heater fuses, then rear defroster if you have a cavalier!
did your heater switch go out all of a sudden or did some work like high work and low not work? if some worked your blower resister is most likely bad under your glove box
theres a resistor where the heter core lines conect to fire wall on passenger side in engin comp. it looks like a water heater fuse
On fire wall or on heater plenum there should be a relay, also the GEM a brain that controls many functions may be bad
Try checking the blower motor fuse, it may be blown. Also, check the wiring harness for good contact to motor connection.Last, replace the blower motor , ~$30 and 20 minutes to replace it, watch for AC lines when working near them. Good luck!!
If the Heater Blower Motor is not working then it can only be one of a few things. First check the fuse to see if it is blown. Next look at the wiring and see if it is connected correctly. If prior to the motor stopping you only had high speed and not low speed then the Resistor Pack is defective. It is possible that the speed control is defective but not likely. To check the operation of the blower motor itself, apply 12 volts directly to the motor. If it runs it is good. The Resistor Pack can go bad all of a sudden so make sure to check it if nothing else is wrong.
I would start by checking your fuse box. It will typically be located somewhere under your dashboard, or under the hood. if they stopped working at the same time its probably electrical (fuse, short, etc) if it wasn't the same time it could be unrelated causes. Possibly the thermostat for your heater.
There is usually a vaccum line or relay that moves the vent controls under the dash. it sounds like may be the problem. If you are going to fix, I suggest that you get the haynes manual or the shop manual for your vehicle. hope it helps. duboff
Someone turned up the thermostat, or the thermostat has failed. The thermostat tells the heater what temp to keep the water at.
When the fuel pump goes out on 92 geo metro is it sudden or slow
They would indicate either a sudden increase or decrease in elevation, which could mean a hill, mountain, or depression in topography.
