I'm doing this for science homework. Yahoo.com says that there are 12 chromosomes in a potato plant. another wiki answer said it was 99999999.998645 or something like 8645. I don't really know.
Plant cells have single DNA chromosomes. Animal Cells have multiple.

Yes there are chromosomes in animal cells. There are also chromosomes in plant cells. :)
