I do not believe the Festiva has a low oil light.... the light you are seeing is likely for oil pressure which has nothing to do with how much oil you have in your engine. you could have a bad oil pump or the gap between your oil pump pickup and oil pan has been smashed out.

The sensor is stuck if the bottle is full. Just shake it up, it will unstuck.
Full position (up) - 7 ohms Half tank (middle) - 33 ohms Empty position (down) - 95 ohms
I have a 1995 ford ranger, and the ABS light comes on when the brake fluid is low. Check and make sure your brake fluid is full. If it is full then it could be a number of different things.
The check engine light on a 1999 Ford Ranger is between the full mark of the gas gauge and the left turn signal arrow

right rear of engine (looking at engine from front) where speedometer cable goes into front of transmission, remove retainer bolt and ubscrew speedometer unit, on side of unit is a small lever gauge. fill thru that hole.
Remove the speedometer cable and driven gear from the transaxle case. Wipe the gear clean and reinsert it. Pull it out again there is a small tab on the driven gear, there is a notch on the tab full in the first intention and below the tab add fluid.
