It was called "impressment" and was often done forcibly by groups called "press gangs", leading to the specific synonym "pressganging."
The process forcing people to join the army during World War 1 was called conscription

England. In the early 1800's, England was involved in a war with France and there was a shortage of manpower in England. So, they resorted to stopping American ships and forcing some of their crews into service with them. This was one of the main causes of the War of 1812 between the U.S. and England.

Girl trafficking refers to the illegal trade and exploitation of girls for the purposes of forced labor, sexual slavery, or domestic servitude. Victims are often kidnapped or deceived and then sold into these forms of exploitation against their will. It is a severe violation of human rights and is a form of modern-day slavery.
Impressment is forcing American sailors into joining the British Navy.
Not sure if this is specific to modern warfare, it mostly happened in the late 1700s and early 1800s. It is called Impressment.
