The first thing to look for is a blown fuse. Then there should be a master reset done on the computer to reset the error this should resolve the problem.
Check fuses.
try looking at your power steering pump belt it could be slipping
there was a recall for that .call dealr to see if you qualify
Most likely replace the clock spring. Or check all plugs going to the stereo unit including inside the Steering wheel. Be sure to disconnect negative battery terminal for 2 minutes before opening the steering wheel for safety reasons regarding the airbag if fitted.
If the controls on the steering wheel are mixing up or not working odds are the rotating electrical contact ( clock spring) is failing. Replacing it should fix the problem. When mine failed I experienced the following symptoms. First the air bag light came on. Later the audio controls would mix up then the horn and cruise control stopped working.
The clockspring under the airbag is not connected or needs to be replaced! also the cruse control and radio controls in the steering wheel are probably not working
must CHECK HORN RELAY IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT SEEK A RELAY DIAGRAM BUT FOR MEMORY I BELIEVE IS THE NO. 4 RELAY. I CAN NO GIVE YOU AN ANSWER REGADING THE STEERING WHELL CONTROL.
Bulbs? Sockets? Steering column switch?
If you mean the CONTROLS on the steering column (audio and cruise control buttons) are not working, there is a module buried deep within the steering column that allows the wiring from these controls (as well as the airbag) to maintain their connections to the vehicle circuitry even while the steering wheel is turning. It is called a "clockspring", and it's a bear to replace. Runs $350-500 at the dealer. This problem is very common to the LS.
sync server has stopped working mdcrash reporttool has stopped working.?
take to the dealer or got to a salvage yard and buy replacement parts
I accidentally pulled the center piece of my steering wheel out and the horn stopped working... i had to reinsert a wire that had came out of it's slot.. If it's not that it could be a fuse or the horn could be unplugged in the hood.. Most likely would be a fuse if it happened out of the blue though
