The Earth makes a small ripple in the gravitational field surrounding the Sun. Man generates more energy in some radio and the TV wavelengths than the Sun otherwise the Earth would be exceptionally difficult to discover from a few light years away.

It's not that they're affected by the sun more, but earth is the only planet with the ozone, which protects us from the harsh rays of the sun. That's why it's so important that we try to stop global warming, or our planet will no longer be able to grow life because of the sun.
