There is a girl at church who has a horrendous crush on me but I just want to be friends and I really do not to mess up our friendship and she won't talk to me out of nervousness what should I do?

The problem is that she probably won't want to be only friends with you if you don't want to date her. In your situation I'd tell her that I like her, but don't love her. Then I'd tell her I know she probably won't want to be friends with me, but I'd like to, and offer her help with getting over me and finding someone else. You'll pretty much have to pick up the friendship building yourself completely until she accepts you as a friend and only a friend.
