HeadersThis question requires much more information than you have given to be properly answered.

The short answer is Not Likely. The greatest span that I could find for 2 each 2X4 header using SP is 3 6.

The long answer is that there is a lot of information that goes into designing a header. This is where a design professional really earns their money. Here is some of the information that will be needed to design a header for a home or any other building. These same considerations go into designing all headers whether for roofing or flooring support.

What is the dead load?

What is the live roof load?

Are there any other acting forces? (wind, seismic, etc.)

What grade and species of lumber?

Is the lumber engineered or natural?

All of these questions may not carry the same weight when applied in different areas of the country. For instance; I would not worry about hurricane force winds in the mountains of California as much as I would in the coastal islands of Florida. Then again, I would worry more about earthquakes and seismic loads.

The IRC (International Residential Code) R602.7 guides you through tables and information that can be very helpful. You do have to know what the right questions are though to get the right answer.

Talk to your local Building Official or a Design Professional and ask for help in determining the requirements in your area.

Hope this helps

Does a psychrometer measure humidity?

Yes a psychrometer measure humidity as according to the definition ;Psychrometer : An instrument that measure temperature and relative humidity.Any instrument capable of measuring the psychrometric state of air is called apsychrometer. In order to measure the psychrometric state ofair, it is required to measure three independent parameters. Generally two of theseare the barometric pressure and air dry-bulb temperature as they can be measuredeasily and with good accuracy. Two types of psychrometers are commonly used. Each comprises of twothermometers with the bulb of one covered by a moist wick. The two sensing bulbsare separated and shaded from each other so that the radiation heat transferbetween them becomes negligible. Radiation shields may have to be used over thebulbs if the surrounding temperatures are considerably different from the airtemperature. The sling psychrometer is widely used for measurements involving room airor other applications where the air velocity inside the room is small. The slingpsychrometer consists of two thermometers mounted side by side and fitted in aframe with a handle for whirling the device through air. The required air circulation (≈3 to 5 m/s) over the sensing bulbs is obtained by whirling the psychrometer (≈ 300RPM). Readings are taken when both the thermometers show steady-state readings. In the aspirated psychrometer, the thermometers remain stationary, and asmall fan, blower or syringe moves the air across the thermometer bulbs.

Does anybody remember a folk group called the Town Criers I have a 45 autographed by 3 members I saw them in Gatlinburg TN?

I have been looking for them for years. I also went to Gatlinburg with family and in spite of all there was to do in the town, the best part of the trip for all of us (ages: 8 - 40) was the Town Criers show.
