You're probably trying to do homework, or a project for civics class, so here's some help. To begin, articles one, two, and three in the USA constitution set up the three branches of national government.

The three branches of the national government (gov. for short) are:

  • The Executive branch- Headed by the President of the USA
  • The Legislative branch- bicameral house ( bicameral means two) House of Representatives (lower chamber) and Senate (upper chamber).
  • The Judicial Branch- The USA Supreme court leads this branch.

The jobs of the branches of Gov.

  • Article I sets up the legislative branch. It's power is to create laws.
  • Article II sets up the executive branch. It's power is to execute laws.
  • Article III sets up the judicial branch. It's power is to interpret laws.
