Meta engines search for information on different search pages at the same time. If someone typed in "hummingbirds" they would search on two or three search pages at once.

If you are a day to day internet user then Avasearch.com is a good search engine If you are more advanced then Google.com, bing.com and Ask.com

Or simply try both search engines with three queries: a) a keyword search (orange?) b) a question about our solar system . c) a small sentence (ex: I want to watch a movie). And see the results on both search engines... That might be a more updated and accurate comparison since there are updates.
